Run Near Dupe and Threading on documents

You can run Near Dupe and Threading (NDT) on selected documents. You can create a NDT job or update an existing one. When updating an existing job you can choose to add documents to an existing NDT job or replace the document set associated with the existing job.

When you update an existing NDT job:

• The system does not create additional NDT fields and reuses the fields created during the original NDT job run.

• You cannot change the selected action (Email Threading or Near Duplicate Detection).

• You cannot modify the Similarity Threshold or Include Emails settings configured for the original job.

To run NDT on documents, complete the following procedure.

1. In the Main Menu, select Review.

2. Select the documents on which you want to run NDT.

3. In the Document Actions pane, click NDT.

4. In Near Dupe and Threading, follow these steps.

   1. Create or update a job.

      • To create a job, follow these steps.

        1. In Start a new job or update an existing one, select Create New.

        2. In Job Name, enter a name to identify the job.

           • Using special characters (such as a hyphen) in the job name can cause the job to fail.

        3. In Actions, select one or more actions.

           • Select Email Threading to run Email Threading on email documents.

           • Select Near Duplicate Detection to run Near Duplicate Detection on any documents.

        4. For Near Duplicate Detection, do the following.

           1. In Similarity Threshold, set the threshold for Near Duplicate Detection. By default, this field shows the threshold value that you set in Project Settings.

           2. In Emails, select Include if you want to run Near Duplicate Detection on email documents.

      • To update a job, follow these steps.

        1. In Start a new job or update an existing one, select Update Existing.

        2. In Job, select an existing NDT job.

        3. Select how you want to update the existing job.

           • Select Add to Existing to add the selected documents to the existing document set.

           • Select Overwrite to replace the existing document set with the currently selected documents.

   2. Click Submit.

5. Track the job status in the JOBS page in Inspect and Review and in the Jobs Overview page.
